Is it for me?

Henderson Global Trust should be considered by investors who want their investment manager to focus on growing capital over medium to long term from a select number of hand picked stocks from anywhere across the world - normally 40 stocks represent 80% of the portfolio. It is an option for investors prepared to accept the greater risk and potential rewards associated with a focused portfolio of stocks.
    What does it do?
Henderson Global Trust invests in a concentrated portfolio of shares from countries around the world. It focuses on growing capital by investing in shares of large companies with 80% of the portfolio normally held in 40 stocks. The trust actively manages the level of discount between the Net Asset Value per share and the share price. It aims to outperform by at least 2% the composite benchmark, which compromises 50% FTSE All-Share Index and 50% Morgan Stanley Capital World Index ex-UK. This is a target not a guarantee.
    Why invest?
    • Winner of the 2010 Moneywise Investment Trust Global Growth award.
    • The manager's tenure is one of the longest in the sector having been involved in the management of this company since 1983.
    • The Trust is managed to deliver risk adjusted performance. The manager aims to outperform in falling markets, while performing at least in-line in rising markets.  Full details of the Trust's performance.
    What are the risks?
    • This portfolio may hold only 40-60 stocks. If one of these investments declines in value, this can reduce the portfolio's value more than if it held a larger number of investments.
    • Not all the investments in this portfolio are made in Sterling, so exchange rates could affect the value of and income from your investment. Full details of risks.

The European Commission’s financial transaction tax proposal on most equity, debt and derivative transactions is currently the subject of hot debate and negotiations between the 11 eurozone member states and participants in the financial markets. One area of the industry that seems particularly vulnerable to even the smallest levy is the securities lending and repo markets because of a combination of low margins, large volumes and repeated transactions.
