Philip Remnant CBE
Chairman
Philip Remnant is a Senior Adviser to the investment banking division of Credit Suisse in Europe, having previously been a Vice Chairman of CSFB Europe and Head of the UK Investment Banking Department. He is also Chairman of the Shareholder Executive and a Director of UK Financial Investments. He was Director General of the Takeover Panel from 2001 to 2003 and again in 2010. He joined the Board on 1 January 2011 and was appointed Chairman on 24 October 2011.

David Brief
David Brief recently retired as Chief Investment Officer of BAE Systems Pension Funds Investment Management Limited. Mr Brief is also a non-executive director of Henderson Asian Growth Trust plc and is on the Investment Committee of the British Coal Staff Superannuation Scheme and Rio Tinto Pension Scheme. Mr Brief joined the Board 1 January 2009.

Richard Hextall

Richard Hextall (Audit Chairman and Senior Independent Director) is a Chartered Accountant and has been the Group Finance Director of Amlin plc since 1999. He joined Amlin from Deloitte & Touche, where he was a director specialising in the insurance and financial services sector. Mr Hextall was a director of the Lloyd’s Market Association from 2007 to 2010 and a member of its Finance Committee from 2002 to 2009 (Chairman from 2005 to 2007). He was also a member of the Lloyd’s Investment Committee from 2003 to 2007. Mr Hextall joined the Board on 1 November 2007.

Simon Barratt
Simon Barratt joined the Board on 1 October 2010. Simon is General Counsel and Company Secretary at Whitbread PLC where he has been since 1991. He was previously at Rio Tinto and Heron, having qualified as a solicitor with the law firm, Slaughter and May.

Martin Morgan
Martin Morgan joined the Board on 1 March 2012. He has been Chief Executive of Daily Mail and General Trust PLC since October 2008, having joined the Group in 1989. He was previously Chief Executive of dmg information. He is a non-executive director of Euromoney Institutional Investor plc.
