Thematic analysis is used to identify positive sustainability and investment drivers across the value chain.

We invest in companies that contribute to, benefit from and best adapt to the shift to an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible global economy. We refer to these companies as 'Industries of the Future'. Typically these companies provide solutions to sustainability challenges and we therefore can create positive long-term investment opportunities. Goods and services that promote sustainable lifestyles among all age groups, including children and the elderly.
Safety Safety
Minimising the risk of safety incidents at work, at home and in the community.
Social Property and Finance Social Property & Finance  Providing property for social benefit, access to housing, regeneration, and better and wider access to financial services.
Sustainable transport Sustainable Transport 
Shifting to less polluting forms of transport, and supporting cleaner transport technologies.
Water management Water Management 
Managing and conserving water, and minimising pollution.

  • The contributions the company's portfolio of goods and services make to a particular sustainability theme
  • The extent to which this is a driver of the company's future value generation
  • The proportion of annual turnover the company derives from this sustainability theme
  • The share of the market the company has with regard to this sustainability theme
  • The environmental and social profile of other business activities the company is involved in and
  • The company's corporate responsibility management practices and performance
