Fund Manager's Latest Key Points- June 2009
- The UK stock market fell back in June, as investors took profits at the end of a strong quarter for equities. Although it is clear global economies have stopped deteriorating, there is little evidence of a return to economic growth, meaning corporate profitability remains under pressure. Small and mid-cap stocks outperformed large caps.
- We increased our position in Intec, the software provider to the telecom industry, as we believe the company is set to win new contracts and the new management team is rapidly improving margins.
- We decreased our position in Restaurant Group, the restaurant operator, as the shares have performed well this year and more fully reflect the company’s intrinsic value.
