Executive Committee

Andrew Formica has been in the fund management industry since 1993. He has held various senior roles at the Group in the past 11 years and he has been a member of the Executive Committee since 2004. Prior to being appointed Chief Executive of the Company in November 2008, he was Joint Managing Director of the Listed Assets team (from September 2006) and was Head of Equities (since September 2004). In the early part of his career, he was an equity manager and analyst for the Group.

James Darkins joined AMP in 1998, before AMP's acquisition of Henderson Group, as Head of Property in New Zealand. James was subsequently appointed Head of Property for Asia based in Sydney, before taking up his current role in London in 2001. Over the course of his career he has worked in a number of property and buildings related companies in the UK and New Zealand, including 18 years in the property investment and development industry.

Phil Wagstaff has over 25 years’ asset management experience. He joined the Group in January 2012 as Global Head of Distribution, responsible for all distribution businesses including retail, institutional and hedge funds and is also a member of the Executive Committee. Prior to joining Henderson Group, Phil was Global Head of Distribution at Gartmore which was acquired by Henderson Group in 2011. He previously held senior distribution roles at New Star Asset Management and M&G Investments.

David joined Henderson in January 2005 as Head of Fixed Income, responsible for overseeing the management of all of Henderson's fixed income and structured products. In 2006, David was appointed joint Managing Director of the then newly formed Listed Assets business. David is now the CIO and Managing Director of Investment Management and was appointed Executive Director to the Henderson Group Board in May 2011. David is responsible for equities and fixed income investment, global distribution, operations and IT. He also oversees the development of Henderson's North American business. Before joining Henderson Group, he was Head of Fixed Income for UBS Global Asset Management, Europe and UK.

Shirley Garrood has been Chief Financial Officer since September 2009. She is a chartered accountant and corporate treasurer and has worked in the City for over 30 years. Shirley joined the Group in 2001 and has been a member of the Executive Committee Team since 2002, latterly as Chief Operating Officer. Prior to this, she was Chief Operating Officer at Morley Fund Management (Aviva) and trained as an accountant with KPMG.

Andy Boorman is responsible for Human Resources across the Group including training, pensions and our shareplans. Before joining the Group in 1998, Andy held several senior positions in Sainsburys Group Plc both in HR and as a store manager. Since 1998, Andy has held a number of key positions in HR, principally working with our previous parent company AMP, on a number of mergers, acquisitions and divestments and from 2001 as HR Director for Henderson's operations outside the UK. On demerger from AMP in 2004, Andy was appointed as Director, Human Resources for the new group where he was actively involved in the sale of the life services and Towry law businesses and the development of Henderson as a leading independent fund manager.

Andrew Steward joined Henderson in October 2010 as Chief Risk Officer. After qualifying as a chartered accountant with KPMG Andrew worked in their Specialist Banking Unit for a couple of years prior to joining Manufacturers Hanover Trust. Here, over a 10 year period, he was Head of Global Derivative Support based in New York and then Chief Financial Officer for the UK and European businesses of MHT and Chemical Bank. He spent two years at NatWest Markets and Credit Suisse First Boston followed by 10 years at Fidelity International where he was CFO, CFO of COLT Telecom (majority owned by Fidelity), COO and then Chief Administrative Officer for both the European distribution and global investment management areas.
